Hello friends. Today I will share with you the Airplane crochet pattern. I hope everyone will enjoy this crochet pattern. This crochet pattern I collected from @HOTOFFTHEHOOK.BYCATIE.

Materials:

– Premier Brand “Just Chenille” Super Bulky Yarn (6 weight) In 3 colors

– 20 yards of body color (I used blue)

– 5 yards accent color (I used white)

– 1 yard tip color (I used black)

– 3.5 mm crochet hook

– Stuffing

– Stitch markers

– Tapestry needle

– Scissors

Skill Level:

Advanced Beginner: Basic knowledge of crochet terms and stitches are needed to complete this pattern. YouTube has many helpful videos if you need extra help with a specific stitch or term.

Abbreviations for Airplane crochet pattern:

mc: magic circle

ch: chain

st: stitch

sl st: slip stitch

sc: single crochet

inc: single crochet increase

FLO: front loop only

Notes:

This pattern is worked in a continuous round unless otherwise stated. It is HIGHLY suggested to use stitch markers to track each round.

The yarn I used is on the thinner side. Please adjust your hook size based on the yarn you are using. If your yarn is on the thicker side, you will need to use a larger hook size.

Repeat stitches between the “…”.

Measures about 5 inches long when made using the suggested materials.

 

BODY:

Starting with the tip color

R1: Place 3 sc in a mc (3)

R2: *inc* x 3 (6)

R3: *sc* x 6 (6) Switching to body color in the last stitch.

R4: *FLO inc* x 6 (12)

R5: *sc, inc* x 6 (18) Stuff as you go.

R6-15: *sc* x 18 (18) (10 rounds)

R16: *2 sc, dec* x 4, 2 sc (14)

R17: *sc* x 14 (14)

R18: *dec, 5 sc* x 2 (12)

R19: *2 sc, dec* x 3 (9)

R20-21: *sc* x 9 (9) (2 rounds)

R22: *sc, dec* x 3 (6)

R23: *sc* x 6 (6) Finish stuffing. Fasten off; closing the remaining hole. Weave in ends.

PROPELLERS: X 2

Starting with accent color

R1: Place 6 sc in a mc (6)

R2-3: *sc* x 6 (6) (2 rounds)

R4: *dec* x 3 (3)

R5-6: *sc* x 3 (3) (2 rounds)

Fasten off; sewing the remaining hole closed.

Repeat for your second propeller. Do not stuff. Sew the propellers onto the front of the plane.

 

COCKPIT:

Starting with accent color

R1: Place 8 sc in a mc (8)

R2: *inc* x 8 (16)

R3-4: *sc* x 16 (16) (2 rounds) Sl st into the next stitch. Fasten off; leaving a long tail for sewing. We will stuff this piece later when sewing it onto the plane.

TAIL WING:

Starting with body color

R1: Place 3 sc in a mc (3)

R2: *inc* x 3 (6)

R3: *sc* x 6 (6)

R4: *sc, inc* x 3 (9)

R5: *sc* x 9 (9) sl st into the next stitch. Fasten off; leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff lightly. Sew onto the back of the tail.

 

TAIL PIECES: X 2

Starting with body color

R1: Place 6 sc into a mc (6)

R2-3: *sc* x 6 (6) (2 rounds)

R4: Fold the piece in half, placing 3 sc across. (3)

Fasten off; leaving a long tail for sewing. Do not stuff. Place the pieces below the tail on each side. Sew them onto the plane.

MAIN WINGS: X 2

Starting with body color

R1: Chain 5, sc in the 2nd chain from the hook & in the next 2 chains, place 3 sc in the last chain. (6) Working down the other side of the chain, sc in the next 3 stitches, placing 3 sc in the last stitch. (12)

R2: *sc* x 12 (12) Switch to accent color.

R3: *sc* x 12 (12) Switch to body color.

R4-5: *sc* x 12 (12) (2 rounds)

R6: *inc, 5 sc* x 2 (14)

R7-8: *sc* x 14 (14) (2 rounds)

R9: *sc, inc* x 7 (21) Fasten off; leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff lightly.

ASSEMBLY:

Use a knitting needle or Ami Stix to hold the wings in place while sewing. Place them 5 rows behind the tip.

Place the cockpit in the center of the wings. Sew onto the body, stuff as you go.
