Free Snowman pattern

Today join me (Anna) in making a snowman using super bulky 6-weight yarns. Everyone can use the type of wool and color they want. I collected this free Snowman pattern from @Meowamigurumi. let’s get started.

Materials

Super bulky 6 weighted yarn color White

Super bulky 6 weighted yarn color Red

Super bulky 6 weighted yarn color Mellon Yellow

Super bulky 6 weighted yarn color Green

Super bulky 6 weighted yarn color Pink

9mm Safety eyes

4.5 mm Crochet hook

Scissor, yarn needle, markers

Abbreviations

R = round

mr = magic ring

ch = chain

st = stitch

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)

dec = decrease (2 sc together)

sl st = slip stich

hdc = half double crochet

blo = back loop only

flo: front loop only

(..) = repeat the instructions in brackets the given numbers of times

[..] = total numbers of stitches

HEAD AND BODY

Use white yarn

Round 1: 6sc in MR (6)

Round 2: 6inc (12)

Round 3: (1sc, 1inc) * 6 (18)

Round 4: (2sc, 1inc) * 6 (24)

Round 5-7: 24sc (24)

Round 8: (2sc, 1dec) * 6 (18)

Place the safety eye between round 6 and round 7 at about 5 sts apart. Begin stuffing with fiber fill and continue as you progress.

Round 9: (1sc, 1dec) * 6 (12)

Round 10: (1sc, 1inc) * 6 (18)

Round 11: (1sc, 1inc) * 9 (27)

Round 12-15: 27sc (27)

Round 16: (1sc, 1dec) * 9 (18)

Round 17: (1sc, 1dec) * 6 (12)

Round 18: 6dec (6)

Cut the yarn and leave a long tail. Fasten off. Don’t forget to stuff well. Use the remaining tail to close the hole.

ARM (Make 2)

Use red yarn

Round 1: 4sc in MR (4)

Round 2: 4sc (4)

Change to white yarn

Round 3-5: 4sc (4)

Cut the yarn and leave a long tail for sewing.

FO. Don’t stuff the arm. Sew the arm to the body between round 10 and round 11.

NOSE

Use mellon yellow yarn

Round 1: 3sc in MR (3)

Round 2: 3sc (3)

Cut the yarn and leave a long tail for sewing. FO. Sew the nose to the face between the round 5 and round 8.

HAT

Use red yarn

Round 1: 6sc in MR (6)

Round 2: 6sc (6)

Change to white yarn

Round 3: 6inc (12)

Change to red yarn

Round 4: (1sc, 1inc) * 6 (18)

Round 5: (2sc, 1inc) * 6 (24)

Change to white yarn

Round 6: 24sc (24)

Change to red yarn

Round 7: 24sc (24)

Round 8: (3sc, 1inc) * 6 (30)

Change to white yarn

Round 9: 30sc (30)

Cut and leave a long tail for sewing. FO.

POMPOM

Use white yarn

Round 1: 5sc in MR (5)

Round 2: 5sc (5)

Cut and leave a long tail for sewing. FO. Stuff a little bit. Sew the pompom to the top of the hat. Sew the hat to the head.

SCARF

Use green yarn

Row 1: Chain 39sc, start from 2nd st from the hook, 38sc (38).

Cut and fasten off. Secure the yarn well.

Wrap this scarf around the snow man.

DECORATE

Use pink yarn to embroider the button.

Apply blush to the snowman’s face.

Add the string to the pompom.
