Onno Onion flower crochet pattern

Materials
– 2.5 mm and 2.0 mm crochet hook
– Embroidery needle
– Sport weight yarn (color A: beige, color B: light green)
– 6 mm black eyes
– Pellets
– Soft stuffing/polyester fiberfill

Place the eyes in the middle of the 2nd and the 3rd decrease between rnd 13 and 14, 5 st apart {counted in rnd 13}.

Fasten off
Nose
(color A, embroidery needle)
Embroider the nose in the middle of the eyes between rnd 12 and 13. Make two parallel stitches – two and a half sc wide – and wrap loops around both.
Leaves
(color B, 2.0 mm crochet hook)
Look from the front, flatten the top and start in the last stitch on the right side.
Make the first stitch a standing stitch: sc FLO, hdc FLO, dc FLO, tr FLO, ch 2, slst in back bump of first ch, tr FLO, dc FLO, hdc FLO, sc FLO, slst FLO, sc FLO, hdc FLO, dc FLO, tr BLO in first sc of rnd 23, ch 2, slst in back bump of first ch, tr BLO, dc BLO, hdc BLO, sc BLO, fasten off
Use pellets for filling as this will help the onion to stand better. Fill the body to the last five rounds, then use some fiber- fill to prevent the pellets fom coming out. The shaft should not be stuffed to place the flower there later.
Feet
(color A, 2.5 mm crochet hook)
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring
Rnd 2: 6 sc
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, 2 sc* 2x [8]
Flatten the foot and close it with 3 sc. Skip last stitch and start with sc in 1st and 7th sc, next sc in 2nd and 6th sc, last sc in 3rd and 5th sc.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Thread a needle, insert the needle into the foot and come out in the middle of the front.
Make two feet and sew them on the body with their long yarn tails:
The backs of the 3 sc in the last row are placed to the front. Position the insides of the feet in line with the eyes, and the heels flush with the bottom as shown in the picture.
PART II Onion Flower crochet pattern
Materials
– 2.5 mm and 2.0 mm crochet hook
– Sport weight yarn (color C: lilac, color D: green)
– Toothpick
Flower Umbel
(color C, 2.5 mm crochet hook)
Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring
Rnd 2: *2 sc BLO in next sc* 5x [10]
Rnd 3: 10 sc BLO, fasten off
Hold the piece with the open side facing down, join yarn C into the first front loop in rnd 1: *ch 5, {start in second ch from hook) slst in next 4 ch, slst in next front loop* repeat in each front loop [rnd 1-3; 25x]. In last front loop, work the last sist in same (not next) front loop, fasten off.
Stem & Leaves
(color D, 2.0 mm crochet hook)
Start in first stitch of rnd 3, make the first stitch a standing stitch. Note, the invisible decrease is not suitable if working BLO:
Rnd 4: *sc2tog BLO* 5x [5]
Rnd 5-16: 5 sc
Do not fasten off, but change to 2.5 mm crochet hook:
Leaf 1: ch 15, (start in second ch from hook} slst in next 14 ch, slst in next sc
Leaf 2: ch 12, (start in second ch from hook) sist in next 11 ch, slst in next sc, fasten off
Stabilize the stem by inserting a toothpick and stick it into the shaft of the onion.
