Bernat® Blanket™ (10.5 oz/300 g; 220 yds/201 m)

Main Color MC Vintage White (10006) 3 balls or 895 yds/810 m

Contrast A Olive (10241) 2 balls or 345 yds/310 m

Contrast B Stormy Green (10881) 1 ball or 115 yds/105 m

Contrast C Burnt Mustard (10874) 2 balls or 250 yds/225 m

Size U.S. L/11 (8 mm) Susan Bates® Silvalume® crochet hook or size

needed to obtain gauge. Susan Bates® yarn needle.

Abbreviasions

Approx = Approximately

Beg = Begin(ning)

Ch = Chain(s)

Cont = Continue(ity)

Dc = Double crochet

Rem = Remain(ing)

Sl st = Slip stitch

V-st = (1 dc. Ch 1. 1 dc) in indicated stitch

Yoh = Yarn over hook

Long sc = Draw up a long loop in indicated stitch. Yoh and draw

through 2 loops on hook.

Popcorn = 5 dc in indicated stitch. Pull long loop to prevent stitches from unravelling.

Re-insert hook from back to front into top of first dc. Draw dropped

loop, pushing stitches to back of work.

MEASUREMENTS

Approx 50″ x 60″ [127 x 152.5 cm].

GAUGE

7 sc and 8 rows = 4″ [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS

Notes:

• To change color, work to last 2 loops on hook and draw new color through last 2 loops, then proceed in new color.

• Break A, B and C at end of rows. Do not break MC. Carry color when not in use up side of work.

• Ch 3 at beg of row counts as dc.

BLANKET

See Diagram on page 2.

With MC, ch 87 (multiple of 3 ch).

1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 86 sc.

2nd to 4th rows: Ch 3. 1 dc in each sc to end of row. Join A. Do not Break MC. Turn.

5th row: With A, ch 3. Skip next dc. *V-st in next dc. Skip next 2 dc. Rep from * to last 3 dc. V-st in next dc. Skip next dc. 1 dc in last dc. Join C. Break A. Turn.

6th row: With C, ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1). *Popcorn in next V-st, pushing sts to back of work. Ch 2. Rep from * to last V-st. Popcorn in last V-st. Ch 1. 1 dc in last dc. Join MC. Break C. Turn.

7th row: With MC, ch 1. 1 sc in first dc. 2 long sc in top of next dc 2 rows below. *Skip next popcorn. 1 long sc in next dc 2 rows below. 1 long sc in sp between 2 dc 2 rows below. 1 long sc in next dc 2 rows below. Rep from * to last popcorn. Skip next popcorn. 1 long sc in next dc 2 rows below. 1 sc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Turn.

8th to 10th rows: As 2nd to 4th rows.

11th row: With B, as 5th row.

12th row: With A, as 6th row.

13th row: With MC, as 7th row.

Rep 2nd to 13th rows for pat, breaking A, B and C at ends of rows, until Blanket measures approx 60″ [152.5 cm], ending on 4th or 10th row of pat. Turn. Do not break MC.

Edging: 1st rnd: (RS). With MC, ch 1. 2 sc in first dc. 1 sc in each dc to last dc. 3 sc in last dc (corner). Work sc evenly down left side of Blanket to bottom left corner. 3 sc in corner. Working in rem loops of foundation ch, 1 sc in each ch to first ch. 3 sc in first ch. Work sc evenly up right side of Blanket to top right corner. 1 sc in same sp as first 2 sc. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
