Smurf Cat crochet pattern

MATERIALS
Blue yarn (body)
White yarn (hat & legs)
Hook that matches your yarn weight
Stuffing
Safety eyes
Additional
– Scissors
– Darning needle
– Stitch marker
ABBREVIATIONS
MR – magic ring
R – round
sc – single crochet
inc – increase
dec- decrease
hdc – half double crochet
hdc inc – half double crochet increase
sl st – slip stitch
HOW TO READ IT
This pattern is written in US terminology and it is worked in continuous rounds, which means that you do not need to chain 1 after every round.
(x) – a set of stitches followed by the amount of times you should repeat it
[x] – amount of stitches after each round
DIMENSIONS
These are the materials I used but you can use the ones you want/have:
– Yarn: Bernat Velvet yarn
– Yarn weight: worsted (4)
– Hook size: 4.5 mm
Dimensions:
– Height: 12 cm
– Width: 5 cm
LEGS (MAKE 2)
Start with white yarn:
R1. 6 sc in MR [6]
R2. 6 inc [12]
R3. 4 sc, 2 dec, 4 sc [10]
R4. 4 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc [9]
R5-6. Sc all around [9 x 2 rounds]
R7. Sc all around
Fasten off only the first leg!
Repeat to make the second leg, but when you reach R7, make only 7 sc and leave the rest of the stitches of the round undone! Do not fasten off. Make 3 chains, and sc into the third stitch after the last sc of leg 1. This will count as the first sc of round 8 (BODY).
BODY
Continue with white yarn
R8. 9 sc, 3 sc in the BLO of the chains, 9 sc, 3 sc in the FLO of the chains [24]
R9-10. sc all around [24 x 2 rounds] Switch to blue yarn:
R11. sc all around [24]
R12. (4 sc, 1 dec) x 4 [20]
R13. (3 sc, 1 dec) x 4 [16]
R14-15. Sc all around [16 x 2 rounds]
R16. (6 sc, 1 dec) x 2 [14]
Fasten off.
HEAD
With blue yarn:
R1. 6 sc in MR [6]
R2. 6 inc [12]
R3. (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 [18]
R4. (1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc) x 6 [24]
R5. (3 sc, 1 inc) x 6 [30]
R6-8. sc all around [30 x 3 rounds]
R9. 12 sc, 2 dec, 14 sc [28]
R10. 12 sc, 2 dec, 12 sc [24]
R11. (2 dec, 1 sc) x 4, 2 dec [14]
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Insert the safety eyes between R7 & R8, 7 stitches apart. They should be aligned with the center of the head, where the decreases on R9 & R10 are. Stuff!
HAT
With white yarn:
R1. 4 sc [4]
R2. (1 sc, 1 inc) x 2 [6]
R3. 6 inc [12]
R4. sc all around [12]
R5. (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 [18]
R6. (1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc) x 6 [24]
R7. (3 sc, 1 inc) x 6 [30]
R8. (2 sc, 1 inc, 2 sc) x 6 [36]
R9. 1 inc, (4 sc, 1 inc) x 7 [44]
R10. (1 hdc, 1 hdc inc) x 22 [66]
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. There is no need to stuff but if you want to do it, it is totally okay!
ARMS (MAKE 2)
Using blue yarn:
R1. 6 sc in MR [6]
R2. (1 sc, 1 inc) x 3 [9]
R3-5. sc all around [9 x 3 rounds]
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing and stuff!
