Today I will share with everyone the Fish crochet pattern, hope you will feel relaxed with this crochet pattern.



Tools and materials

Cotton yarn – size 8/4, in the following colors:

Light blue

Dark blue Black

Scissors

Hook number 2.5

Sewing needle

Fiber fill (optional)

Abbreviations

mr – magic ring

sc – single crochet in US (double crochet in UK)

inc – increase (2 single crochet in one stitch)

hdc – half double crochet (half treble crochet in UK)

dc – double crochet (treble crochet in UK)

tr – treble crochet (double treble in UK)

dtr – double treble crochet (triple treble in UK)

dec – decrease

ch-chain

slst – slip stitch

Fish body

Use light blue color yarn.

1. 6sc in mr (6)

2. ‘1sc, inc’ x 3 (9)

3. ‘2sc, inc’ x 3 (12)

4. ‘3sc, inc’ x 3 (15)

5. ‘4sc, inc’ x 3 (18)

6. ‘5sc, inc’ x 3 (21)

7. ‘6sc, inc’ x 3 (24)

8. ‘7sc, inc’ x 3 (27)

9. ‘8sc, inc’ x 3 (30)

10. – 15. sc around (30)

16. ‘3sc, dec’ x 6 (24)

17. ‘6sc, dec’ x 3 (21)

Optional: fill the body of the fish with fiberfill.

18. ‘5sc, dec’ x 3 (18)

19. ‘4sc, dec’ x 3 (15)

20. ‘3sc, dec’ x 3 (12)

21.-22. sc around (12)

Change to dark blue to make the back fin.

Work in the back loops only for every row!

1. ch16, turn, starting from the 2nd chain from the hook, 15sc

2. 5sc, 5hdc, 5dc, ch2

3. starting from the 2nd chain from the hook, 16sc, ending with a sc into the end of the tail.

Repeat, R2 and R3, 5 more times, fasten off, weave in the yarn.

Front fins

Use dark blue color yarn.

1. make a mr and wotk the following into the mr:

a. ch1, dc, tr, dtr, ch1, tr, ch1, dc, ch2, slst into the mr

Top fin

Use dark blue color yarn.

Flatten the body of the fish and attatch the yarn onto the top middle of the body (around R10).

Make 10 dc, ch2, slst, fasten off, weave in the yarn.



Assembly

Sew the side fins on R12, on both sides of the body. Using black color yarn, embroider eyes between R4 and R6, on both sides of the body.

Optional: embroider mouth.
