Kawaii unicorn basket
This is the model I collected from Hobbii Friends
Level: Beginner
Crochet hook: 2,5 mm and 7 mm
Materials:
Sewing pins, black embroidery thread, sewing thread, sewing needle, filling
Yarn: Ribbon
Natural White (#02) - 1 skein
Yarn: Rainbow Cotton 8/4
White (#01) – 1 skein
Light Purple (#40) – 1 skein
Light Turquoise (#34) – 1 skein
Pink (#45) - 1 skein
Yellow (#54) – 1 skein
Light Green (#19) – 1 skein
Yarn: Rainbow Glitter Silver
Antique Rose Silver (#061) – 1 skein
Abbreviations:
st: stitch
ch: chain st
sc: single crochet
1 inc: crochet 2 sc into same stitch
1 dec: crochet 2 stitches together
sl: slip stitch
hdc: half double crochet
ks: knit stitch (a sc crocheted into the “v” under the stitch)
Tip!
Place a stitch marker or safety pin in the first stitch so you can keep track of where the beginning of the round is.
BASKET
Using Ribbon in the color Natural White and a size 7 mm crochet hook
Start by making a magic ring
Round 1 : 6 sc in the magic ring (6)
Round 2 : [1 inc] x6 (12)
Round 3 : [1 sc, 1 inc] x6 (18)
Round 4 : 1 sc, 1 inc, [2 sc, 1 inc] x5, 1 sc (24)
Round 5 : [3 sc, 1 inc] x6 (30)
Round 6 : 2 sc, 1 inc, [4 sc, 1 inc] x5, 2 sc (36)
Round 7: In the back loops of the stitches, 36 sc (36)
Rounds 8–17: 36 ks (10 rounds, 36)
Finish with 1 sl.
Break the yarn and weave in the ends.
EARS (make 2)
Using Rainbow 8/4 in the color White and a size 2,5 mm crochet hook
Make a magic ring

Rounds 4-5 : 12 sc (2 rounds, 12)

HORN
Using Rainbow Glitter in the color Antique Rose Silver and a size 2,5 mm crochet hook
Make a magic ring
Round 1 : 6 sc in the magic ring (6)
Round 2 : 6 sc (6)
Round 3 : [1 inc] x6 (12)
Rounds 4-11 : 12 sc (8 rounds, 12)
Finish with 1 sl. Break the yarn and leave a long tail for attaching the horn.
EYES (make 2)
Using Rainbow 8/4 in the color White and a size 2,5 mm crochet hook
Make a magic ring
Round 1 : 6 sc in the magic ring (6)
Round 2 : [1 inc] x6 (12)
Round 3 : [1 sc, 1 inc] x6 (18)
Round 4 : 1 sc, 1 inc, [2 sc, 1 inc] x5, 1 sc (24)
Finish with 1 sl. Weave in the ends.
Embroider black eyelashes
CHEEKS (make 2)
Using Rainbow 8/4 in the color Pink and a size 2,5 mm crochet hook
Make a magic ring
Round 1 : 6 sc into the magic ring (6)
Round 2 : [1 inc] x6 (12)
Finish with 1 sl. Break the yarn and leave a long tail for attaching the cheeks.
ROSE (make 3)
Using Rainbow 8/4 in Light Purple, Light Turquoise and Yellow and a size 2,5 mm crochet hook
Chain 8 sts
Round 1: Start in the 2nd ch from the hook, 2 sc in every st, ch 1 and turn (14)
Round 2: 2 sc in every st (28)
Roll up into a rose and fasten so it doesn’t “unroll” itself.
LEAF (make 6)
Using Rainbow 8/4 in the color Light Green and a size 2,5 mm crochet hook
Chain 6 sts
Round 1: Start in the 2nd ch from the hook, 2 sc, 2 hdc (5)
Break the yarn and leave a long tail for attaching the leaves.
Sew two leaves to the backside of every rose (see picture guide below)
ASSEMBLY
Use sewing pins to place the ears and then sew them onto the basket. Stuff the horn with filling and sew it on between the ears.
Use sewing pins to place the eyes and then sew them on using sewing thread.
Use sewing pins to place the cheeks and then sew them on using sewing thread.
Sew the roses onto the basket along the bottom of the horn (see picture guide).
