For this Bernie the Bee fairy crochet pattern I’m use yarn and a 3mm crochet hook.
Your Bernie should be about 11 cm / 4.33 inches tall. However, the exact measure is not important.
MATERIALS & TOOLS
– Bernat Super Value Chocolate, Taupe, Bright Yellow
– Bernat Satin Banana
– Caron Simply Soft White, Soft Pink
– 3mm Crochet hook
– Stuffing
– 6mm safety eyes
– Tapestry needle
ABBREVIATIONS
ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
inc = 2sc in one stitch
dec = single crochet 2 together
dc = double crochet
trc = treble crochet
ss = slip stitch
ARMS (in bernat satin banana); make two
Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2-4: sc around [6]
Fasten off leaving a tail long enough to sew to the body
LEGS (in bernat satin banana); make two
Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: sc around [6]
Fasten off leaving a tail long enough to sew to the body.
CHEEKS (in caron simply soft soft pink); make two
Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Fasten off leaving a tail long enough to sew to the body.
HAIR (in bernat super value taupe)
Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: inc x6 [12]
Rnd 3: sc around [12]
Rnd 4: (sc 2, dec) x3 [9]
Stuff the hair lightly
Rnd 5-17: sc around [9]
Fasten off leaving a tail long enough to sew to the top of body.
WINGS (in caron simply soft white); make two
ch3, trc 3 in the first chain you make, dc 3, ch1, trc, ch1, dc 3, ch1, trc 3, ch3, ss
Fasten off leaving a tail long enough to sew to the top of body.
FINISHING
1. Stuff body.
2. Fold and sew the hair to the body.
3. Sew the arms to body without stuffing. I placed mine between round 16 & 17.
4. Stuff and sew the legs to body.
5. Insert 6 mm safety eyes. I placed mine between round 13 & 14.
6. Sew the cheeks to body.
7. Sew wings to the back of the body.
