Crested flower crochet pattern
Today I would like to share with you the crochet pattern that I have collected by @alanja.handmade. That’s the crested flower crochet pattern, now let’s get started.
MATERIALS
– 100% Cotton Yarn (size 2) in Red and Green.
– 2.5 mm crochet hook (adjust according to your yarn size)
– Tapestry needle
– Scissors
– Floral wire
– Small wire ~0.2 mm (optional)
– Pliers
– Floral Tape (optional)
ABBREVIATIONS
MR – Magic Ring
Ch – Chain
St/s – Stitch/Stitches
R – Row/Rows
Slst – Slip Stitch
Sc – Single Crochet
Hdc – Half Double Crochet
Dc – Double Crochet
Inc – Increase
Dec – Invisible Decrease
FLOWER PETALS
(IN RED)
The ch 2 at the beginning counts as I double crochet stitch. The slst at the end of each round doesnt count as a st.
R1: in MR ch 2, 11 dc, (12)
R2: ch 2, 2 dc in the same st, [3 dc in the same st] x 10, 1 slst (33)
R3: ch 2, 1 dc, [2 dc in the same st] x 32, 1 slst (66)
R4: ch 2, 2 dc in the same st, [1 dc, 2 dc in the same st] x 32, 1 slst (99)
R5: ch 2, 2 dc in the same st, [1 dc, 2 dc in the same st] x 49, 1 dc, 1 sist (147)
R6: [ch 4, 1 slst] x 147 (735)
Finish off, and weave in the yarn ends.
FLOWER BASE
(IN GREEN)
R1: in MR, 6 sc (6)
R2: 6 inc (12)
R3-8: sc around (12)
R9: [ch 3, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 dc, 2 slst] x6 (24)
Finish off, and leave a long tail for sewing.
SMALL LEAVES
(MAKE 2 IN GREEN)
R1: ch 10, starting on the 2nd ch from the hook, 9sc.
Rotate and work 9sc on the other side of the ch. Add some thin wire and crochet over it (18)
R2: ch 3, starting on the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 9 sc, 1 slst (12)
Finish off. Leave a long yarn tail for sewing.
Leave the 2 ends of the wire to assemble at the end.
BIG LEAVES
(MAKE 2 IN GREEN)
R1: ch 15, starting on the 2nd ch from the hook, 14sc.
Rotate and work 14sc on the other side of the ch. Add some thin wire and crochet over it (28)
R2: ch 3, starting on the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 14 sc, 1 sist (17)
Finish off. Leave a long yarn tail for sewing.
Leave the 2 ends of the wire to assemble at the end.
ASSEMBLY
Pass the Floral wire through the flower base (6) and flower petals. (7), and bend the floral wire inside using pliers (8). Sew the flower base to the petals (9).
Using the floral tape, wrap around the floral wire, to have a more polished look. As you wrap add the small leaves and wrap around the small wires. Do some more warps, and add the big leaves the same way (11). Finish off and weave in the yarn threads. So we’re done, good luck.
