Head and body

Worked in one piece from the front to back.

Will be great if you have two balls of black yarn. If there is only one, either prepare a small ball of yarn in advance or use the other end of the current ball.

Begin with White yarn. Stuff as you go.

Round 1: 6 sc into an AMR (6)

Round 2: 6 inc (12)

Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) 6 times (18)

Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) 6 times (24)

Round 5: (3 sc, 1 inc) 6 times (30)

Round 6: (4 sc, 1 inc) 6 times (36)

Change color to black.

Round 7: blo – 1 sl-st each into every stitch (36)

Round 8: blo – (5 sc, inc) 6 times (42)

Round 9: (6 sc, inc) 6 times (48)

Place crocheting the body aside for a short time. Join new working yarn in Black to the unused loop of the first stitch of Rnd 7 and work around: 15 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 tr, 1 dc,1 hdc, 15 sc. Cut the working yarn and secure the end. Using black yarn sew two middle treble crochets to the white part of the head as if continuing these crochets by 2 rounds towards the center. Using orange yarn embroider the beak as shown in the picture. Insert the safety eyes on the same level as the beak line. Using pink yarn embroider the cheeks. Take up the body again.

Rounds 10-15: 6 rounds total – 1 sc each into every st. (48)

Round 16: (6 sc, dec) 6 times (42)

Round 17: (5 sc, dec) 6 times (36)

Round 18: (4 sc, dec) 6 times (30)

Round 19: (3 sc, dec) 6 times (24)

Round 20: (2 sc, dec) 6 times (18)

Round 21: (1 sc, dec) 6 times (12)

Round 22: 6 dec (6)

Put more stuffing. Pull the remaining opening closed, and hide the tail inside.

Wings (make 2)

Worked in Black yarn.

Round 1: 6 sc into an AMR (6)

Round 2: (1 sc, inc) 6 times (9)

Rounds 3-4: 2 rounds total – 1 sc each into every stitch (9)

Don’t stuff the wigs. Fold the piece in half, and crochet the edges of both layers together with sc.

Cut the yarn, leaving an end enough for seaming.

Paws (make 2)

Worked in Orange yarn.

Crochet a chain of ch2.

Work into the 1st stitch: 2 hdc, ch1., sl-st, ch1, 2 hdc, ch1, sl-st. Cut the yarn, leaving an end enough for seaming.

Tail

Using black yarn work into an AMR: (ch2, 1 bobble*, ch2, sl-st) repeat 5 times. Tighten the magic ring firmly. Cut the yarn, leaving an end enough for seaming.

*Bobble – work 3 unfinished dc’s into the same stitch and crochet them off together.

Round 1: 6 sc into an AMR (6)

Round 2: 6 inc (12)

Round 3: (1 sc, inc) 6 times (18)
